Janet Eastwood is President of Two Red Chairs and a leading Executive Coach for the media industry. A certified professional coach, Janet is a member of the International Coaching Federation, a certified Emotional Intelligence Coach and a graduate of the CTA Certified Coaching program.

Prior to launching Two Red Chairs, Janet spent 18 years in the television industry. A Vice-President at the age of 31 and an Executive Vice-President by the age of 35, Janet Eastwood knows what it takes to succeed in business.

In her most recent role, as Executive Vice-President of Marketing, Communications & Creative Services for Alliance Atlantis, Janet oversaw all advertising, on-air promotion, media and public relations for the company’s 12 specialty television channels, including: Showcase, HGTV, History Television, Food Network, National Geographic Channel and BBC Canada.

Prior to joining Alliance Atlantis, she spent eight years in progressive communications and marketing roles at the CTV Television Network – most recently as head of marketing for CTV's News division.

In 2004, Janet made a bold decision to leave her high-profile television career to pursue a longtime dream: launching her own coaching company, dedicated to helping high-achieving individuals reach their career goals, without sacrificing the quality of their lives.

In March 2005, Janet was named “Mentor of the Year” by the Canadian Women in Communications Association (CWC). In October 2006, she made her on-air television debut as regular Guest Coach for CBC’s national daytime talk show, “The Gill Deacon Show”.

Janet holds a Bachelor's degree in Radio and Television Arts and is a graduate of the Promax Marketing Masters course at Harvard University. She has given numerous keynotes and seminars on the art and science of achieving business success and is an inductee in the "Who's Who of Canadian Women".

Brent Bernie has almost 29 years of information services marketing experience. Currently, he leads a rapidly expanding team of account people who service and support over 190 customers in Canada. comScore Media Metrix is the only Canadian company that maintains a panel of Canadians for the purposes of reporting and evaluating their actual online behaviour. With a current panel of ~35,000 people per month, comScore has the ability to benchmark sites vs. their category, evaluate demographic delivery, and monitor the growth of the online market across many different business sectors.

Brent has most recently been intimately involved in the development of comScore’s Unified Digital Measurement transition and ensuring Canada is at the forefront of this digital measurement enhancement.

Brent began the Media Metrix service in Canada in late 1999 as its first and only president. Media Metrixs’ North American operations were acquired by comScore in spring 2002. Prior to initiating the Media Metrix service in Canada as its leader, Brent was President of Harris Media Systems, a major Canadian software builder of advertising planning tools across all media.

Brent began his career at the Global Television Network in Toronto in 1977. Following Global, Brent began a 12 year career at Nielsen Media Research–eventually becoming a Vice President of A.C. Nielsen. He was heavily involved in the launch of the People Meter in Canada. After Nielsen, Brent joined Compusearch Micromarketing Data and Systems (a major provider of geodemographic consumer and business information) ultimately becoming Vice President of Sales.

Brent was active on the board of the IAB for seven years and served as Chairman of the organization from 2004 to June 2006. Brent was very involved in the creation of the IAB’s CMOST (Canadian Media Optimization Program and is the Chairman of the board of NABS (The National Advertising Benevolent Society of Canada)

In late 2005 Brent was named to Marketing Magazine’s Power List of the 100 Most Influential People in Canadian Communications. All 100 were recognized for their leadership, innovation and clout.

Barbara Williams oversees the creation of Canadian original productions, acquisition of top U.S. and international series, and on-air scheduling for Shaw Media’s conventional television network and 18 specialty channels.

With over 25 years in media, she brings innovative thinking and real passion and understanding to our business. Prior to joining Shaw Media, Barbara served as Vice President and General Manager of conventional television station, Toronto 1 and as Senior Vice President of Lifestyle Programming at Alliance Atlantis.

Barb currently Chairs the Board of Directors of the Banff World Media Festival, and also sits on the Board of the Canadian Film Centre and Canada’s Walk of Fame. In December 2008 she was acknowledged for her Outstanding Achievement in the Canadian broadcasting industry at the 20th Anniversary WIFT-T Crystal Awards.

Aldona Gudas joined the Labour & Employment Group in the Montréal office in February 2007. From 1996 to 2005, Aldona practised labour and employment law in the Firm's Vancouver office, where she represented employers and employees in proceedings before the Labour Relations Board, the Human Rights Tribunal, the Employment Standards Tribunal and in court proceedings. She represented a variety of clients operating in the high-tech, biotech, financial services, pharmaceutical, medical products, forestry, mining, manufacturing and service industries, and advised them on a wide range of employment issues, including statutory compliance, terminations, wrongful dismissal, employment policies, human rights complaints and employment contracts.

Aldona frequently advises corporations on the employment law ramifications of corporate transactions, such as mergers and acquisitions. She also provides advice to employers and employees in negotiating and drafting employment contracts, as well as employers and other clients in relation to the developing area of law on privacy issues.

In addition to her practice in the Labour & Employment Group, Aldona has been involved in various areas of civil litigation.

Aldona has spoken at seminars organized by the Continuing Legal Education Society of British Columbia and other continuing legal education providers, and has published articles in relation to employment issues.
